Built of Western Red Cedar, our Planter Box is strong enough to hold potting soil and plantings. The slat sides are placed closely together to provide a nice tight seal. You can add a Planter Bench (sold separately) to create a nice seating area in your garden.
Please note that all rustic aspen and cedar log products are subject to the natural process of "checking". Checking, or cracking, happens as wood releases moisture, and normally occurs across or through the annual growth rings. It is the usual result of wood seasoning. This in no way affects the structural integrity of the piece, but only adds to the rustic character. It is not a defect and is not grounds for a product return. Imperfections such as checking and knots is to be expected in rustic furniture. Checking can range from very slight slivers to cracks running the full length of the log to the heart (middle of the log) of the wood.
